Professional Officer for Ultrasound at the Society and College of Radiographers

Gill has over 30 years ultrasound experience both in clinical practice and education. Before taking on the role as Professional Officer for ultrasound at the Society and College of Radiographers, Gill was an Associate Professor, Ultrasound Programme Director and Lead for Teaching Excellence at City, University of London. She continues to teach on a number of ultrasound and radiography programmes in the UK and overseas. 

Gill has many years of experience accrediting ultrasound programmes as a lead accreditor and committee member for the Consortium for the Accreditation of Sonographic Education (CASE). She had held positions as external examiner, peer reviewer for professional journals and book publishers and has been involved in developing online learning packages for delivering unexpected news in ultrasound and giving feedback on clinical and communication skills. Additionally, was deputy editor for the journal 'Ultrasound' and past-chair of the Society of Radiographers Ultrasound Advisory Group. She has a keen interest in ergonomics and safe ultrasound practice, communication skills training and clinical supervision, teaching the delivery of unexpected news at City, University of London and as a guest lecturer teaching medical students.

As an experienced assessor of ultrasound practitioners Gill is keen to see high-quality online learning available for a wide range of healthcare professionals, to help develop safe and effective ultrasound practice.
