Raphael Kelvin
National Clinical Lead for MindEd and a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Dr Raphael Kelvin first trained as a GP, before becoming a psychiatrist to follow his interest in human development and a wish to intervene early and effectively.

He was previously the National Professional Advisor for Children and Young People's Mental Health and Wellbeing at the Department of Health, England. He worked to establish the CYP IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) initiative and MindEd. Dr Kelvin helped set the 4 strategic goals of quality-driven CAMHS.

He worked clinically with complex children, young people and families. He has a special interest in depression, emotional disorders and self-harm and is active in related research.
