e4Equipment is an e-learning resource for clinical staff to help with updating their understanding of a variety of medical devices.
Aimed at all healthcare professionals within NHS Trusts, e4Equipment provides high quality training in the safe and effective use of medical equipment technology. The project will be integrated into existing training programmes and complemented by practical workshops.
Content is based on best practice advice and manufacturer specific input. The development process has involved consultation with medical device trainers, and national bodies such as the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency, National Patient Safety Agency, National Health Service Litigation Authority and Standards for Better Health.
For each type of device, an introduction and a risk management e-learning session has been developed. This provides general information about the safe use of the device and the inherent risks involved. Further manufacturer device specific sessions become accessible once the initial, prerequisite introduction and risk management sessions have been completed. - Created:
