This module provides resources which help you to draw together your learning from e-ELCA, and from your own experience, to consider practical situations drawn from real world practice.
There are sessions which:
• introduce you to the concepts of palliative care and end of life care, and how to optimize this in the acute hospital setting
• explore when and how to initiate conversations about end-of-life care in the context of cancer, dementia, long-term neurological conditions and respiratory disease
• describe how to approach different clinical situations,
• consider how to deliver effective end of life care in less usual settings
• explore how to manage end of life care in the context of different diseases
The resources in the e-ELCA programme discuss sensitive topics including death, dying, the different stages of end-of-life and bereavement which may be distressing to some learners. - Hierarchy:
