LeAD is a free and engaging e-learning resource to help clinicians develop their understanding of their role in contributing to the management and leadership of health services. LeAD is available to all clinicians regardless of their profession or specialty.
All LeAD sessions have been radically updated to reflect the current NHS and have taken into account feedback and experience since the original launch. Six new sessions have been added providing over 60 sessions of highly interactive e-learning which reflect the five leadership domains outlined in the Leadership Competency Frameworks (MLCF/CLCF).
The sessions within modules are designed to cover the knowledge elements of the Medical Leadership Curriculum and should each take about 20 minutes to complete.
LeAD sessions are presented in two pathways. The Clinical Leadership pathway groups subject sessions into modules reflecting the MLCF / CLCF domains. There is an optional module at the end which explains the MLCF domains and details from the perspective of medical practice.
- Introduction
- Demonstrating Personal Qualities
- Working With Others
- Managing Services
- Improving Services
- Setting Direction
- Additional Material for Medical Leadership Competency Framework
A brief application of the learning and certificate of completion can be printed after each session.
The resources tab in each session provides links and downloads to further material and activities, as well as references.
A full list of the sessions and content can be seen in the printable PDF, which can be accessed from the course library.
