End-of-life Care for all (e-ELCA) was developed by Health Education England elearning for healthcare (HEE elfh) in partnership with the Association for Palliative Medicine to support the implementation of the Department of Health's End of Life Care (EoLC) Strategy (July 2008).
The programme aims to enhance the training and education of all those involved in delivering end-of-life care to people, so that well-informed high-quality care can be delivered by confident and competent staff and volunteers, across health and social care, wherever the person happens to be.
Over 175 highly interactive elearning sessions are now available covering:- assessment
- advance care planning
- communication skills
- symptom management
- integrating learning
- social care
- bereavement care
- spiritual care
- specialist care
The elearning sessions are written by clinicians, practitioners and other experts in their particular field and are extensively peer reviewed and regularly updated. Each session is stand-alone and takes about 20 minutes to complete.
Learning paths of selected e-ELCA sessions are also available. These are collated in collaboration with partners to target the learning needs of specific job roles and specialities.
Please note, the programme covers sensitive topics including death, dying, the different stages of end-of-life and bereavement which may be distressing to some learners.
