This module explores the common themes within spirituality which are relevant in palliative and end-of-life care and the practices and behaviours through which someone experiences and expresses their spirituality.
There are sessions which discuss:
• what spirituality means
• identifying and assessing spiritual need and distress
• spiritual resources and quality of life
• how individuals working together in teams and networks can enhance spiritual care
• offering spiritual care in partnership with community organisations
The resources in the e-ELCA programme discuss sensitive topics including death, dying, the different stages of end-of-life and bereavement which may be distressing to some learners.
