This module provides resources which help you understand the importance of social care in end-of-life care, and the specific contributions made by social care workers in this area of work.
There are sessions which:
• explain how palliative care social work contributes to the role of social care workers in specific settings
• explore how to assess, review and the role that support and care planning contribute to good end-of-life care
• Discuss the specific requirements of supporting individuals living in care homes
The resources in the e-ELCA programme discuss sensitive topics including death, dying, the different stages of end-of-life and bereavement which may be distressing to some learners.
