Welcome to this e-Learning Lite package on Fire Safety - Level 1. Fire Safety training is a legal requirement for all staff.
It has been designed to meet the relevant learning outcomes in the UK Core Skills Training Framework.
The package is made up of 3 elements; a Presentation, a Workbook and an Assessment. The Presentation covers the key points and the Workbook is more in-depth, providing further detail relevant to the subject.
You can choose to do any or all of the 3 elements dependent on your personal preference, learning style and existing knowledge. To complete the package you will need to pass the Assessment.

The characteristics of fire, smoke and toxic fumes -
Fire hazards involved in the working environment -
Significant findings of relevant fire risk assessments -
Practise and promote fire prevention -
Basic fire safety and fire safety protocols including staff responsibilities -
How to raise the fire alarm and actions to take on hearing the fire alarm -
Action to take if fire breaks out or smoke is detected -
Identify the types of fire extinguishers used in different situations -
Evacuation procedures and associated escape routes

You will require further practical training to include evacuation procedures and use of fire fighting equipment -
Dependent on role, location and service need, the outcomes here should be supplemented by specific job and site training
