- This programme contains physics modules for the National Training Scheme for the use of 131I in Benign Thyroid Disease. Areas studied include radiation physics, biological effects of radiation, and basic radiation protection. Further information specific to radiation aspects of treatment with 131I is given in the Physics self-study document issued to trainees before attendance on the one day training course. These modules are a small subset of the physics modules from the R-ITI radiology training material, with some adaptations to make them more appropriate for work with 131I.
