This session describes mental capacity and its assessment in the context of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS). As this is a statutory role there will be a particular focus on applying the correct legal test in accordance with the principles underpinning the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and the guidance in the associated Codes of Practice.
