- Radiation Protection for Cardiology (BIR)
- Description:
- The programme comprises 6 sessions covering the requirements of the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations and the cardiologists training curriculum requiring cardiologists to be able to use radiation equipment appropriately and safely. The material is focussed on cardiology with practical examples from the cardiac catheter laboratory but also covers other imaging techniques for which the cardiologist may request procedures, such as CT or MR. This module also gives an introduction to Nuclear Medicine in Cardiology and PET/CT which might be developed in specialised training.
