Dialogues in Shared Decision Making is a course for GPs created by Health Education England, working across the West Midlands, in partnership with GPs, GP trainers and trainees, patients and others. It provides a visual interactive training experience designed to prompt discussion about, and highlight strategies for, shared decision making (SDM) in the General Practice context. This programme comprises 12 scenarios, each showing a consultation between a GP and a patient or relative and the patient's immediate response. All the consultations featured are simulated with actual GPs role-playing different styles. The scenarios themselves are authentic; gathered and reconstructed from the caseloads of working GPs in the West Midlands.
