- This session will explain the metabolism of suxamethonium with particular reference to plasma cholinesterase. It will describe the causes of a reduced plasma cholinesterase and the clinical consequence of this. The session will then discuss the recognition and treatment of patients who present with suxamethonium apnoea and their subsequent post-operative management.
