[RETIRED] 05b_04_09 Sample Lower Limb Block: Femoral Nerve Block
Session information
- Title:
- [RETIRED] 05b_04_09 Sample Lower Limb Block: Femoral Nerve Block
- Description:
- A femoral nerve block is the injection of local anaesthetic around the femoral nerve to produce sensory and motor conduction block. The sensory blockade provides analgesia in the distribution of the femoral nerve. A femoral nerve block can therefore be used to provide analgesia before, during and after surgery. This session will demonstrate how to perform a femoral nerve block using a nerve stimulator and will describe the indications, contraindications and potential complications.
