Course Information
- Title:
- 16 Ultrasound - Abdominal
- Description:
-
These sessions consider the role of ultrasound in investigating thoracic and abdominal conditions and discusses its value alongside other imaging modalities. General anatomy is reviewed along with normal appearances, normal variants and common abnormalities. Tips on equipment use, technique and reporting will be offered.
Anatomy explored in these sessions includes the aorta, pancreas, liver, gallbladder and biliary tree, spleen, kidneys and bladder. Specific sessions for paediatrics include kidneys and bowel. There are also sessions on the FAST scan and on liver and renal transplant conditions. The final session looks at normal ultrasound appearances and pathologies of the lung and pleura.
We recommend that you complete the 'Image Interpretation - Abdominal Ultrasound: Introduction and Image Optimisation’ session before starting the other sessions.
Please note that while this e-learning includes information on how to write a report, it will not qualify you to report ultrasound examinations. A certificate and record of your learning that can be linked to your KSF, CPD Now and (HCPC) CPD may be printed or downloaded. - Hierarchy:
