This session will discuss an overview of the Mental Health Act (MHA). Mental ill health can occur in any setting be it a medical or surgical ward or even an out patient setting. The MHA is not just used in psychiatric units, it can also be applied to other areas of the hospital site. That is why it is important for foundation doctors to have some knowledge about the MHA and in what circumstances it should be used. - Hierarchy:
