The aim of this course is to help you understand the purpose of a genetic family history, how it is drawn and how to read it.
Discovering that a condition has a genetic cause can affect not only the individual but also their family members, especially if that condition is inherited. Equally, understanding the health of an individual and their family can also reveal whether a genetic condition exists. As the link between our DNA and health becomes clearer, understanding family histories will help with prediction, diagnosis and treatment of disease, not only for the individual but their families as well. - Hierarchy:
