This BSW learning path is aimed at health and social care staff, working in any setting, who have an interest in end-of-life care and who support patients/clients with end of life care needs. The aim of the learning path is to enhance the training and education of the health and social care workforce, so that well-informed high-quality care can be delivered in any setting. Completion of the sessions in this learning path are intended to complement work-based learning, formal teaching, personal study and skills-based or simulation training.
There are three sections to the BSW learning path:
• Introduction – information about the learning path
• Level 1 – includes six sessions suitable for health and social care staff at any grade and should be completed before moving on to Level 2
• Level 2 – includes five sessions recommended for registered nurses, allied healthcare professionals and doctors, working in any setting - Hierarchy:
