This 60 minute session is designed to prepare participants to:
• Confidently document observations, ventilation settings and infusions correctly on ICU observations charts (nurses & clinically experienced workers [CEWs])
• Confidently document gas results onto the ICU observation chart (nurses & CEWs)
• Recognise when patient observations are outside target range and escalate accordingly (all)
• Ensure consultant has set target parameters and made an action plan following on from ward round (all)
• Identify own limitations/experience and know when to escalate accordingly (all)
• Familiarise with the medical framework for suggested ward round documentation (medical)
• Form an impression on patient status: improving, static or deteriorating and document appropriately in the medical notes (medical) - Hierarchy:
