Foundation 2021 e-Learning Programme is designed to assist foundation doctors apply the knowledge they have acquired during their undergraduate medical training. The programme will complement workplace based learning which is the essential component of the foundation curriculum.
It comprises scenario based and knowledge based learning closely mapped to objectives in the curriculum. The case studies used in the scenario based sessions are based in different disciplines including Acute Care, Accident and Emergency, Primary Care and others.
The emphasis of the e-Learning is to help develop medical practitioners who are patient focused and accountable to the public for delivering safe medical care. A new quality assurance process will reinforce this programme so that we can all be confident in the clinical skill, professional behaviour and leadership ability of our doctors. This is fundamental in creating the clinical workforce of the future. As a result the e-learning programme focuses on both clinical skills, with particular emphasis on chronic disease management and the care of acutely ill patients as well as the development of more general skills such as communication and team work. - Created:
