It will look at the reasons for referral to secondary care and the considerations to make when requesting specialist advice. This will be followed by a discussion of the importance of good communication and ways in which the interface between primary and secondary care may continue to be improved. You will learn about the different sources of information to guide the referral process and how to effectively write a secondary care referral.
