- Priorities for care of the dying person: learning path for doctors
- Description:
-
One Chance to Get It Right' (The Leadership Alliance for the Care of Dying People (June 2014) set out the approach to caring for dying people in the last few days and hours of life identifying five Priorities for Care. The report also made recommendations on the desired characteristics of education and training programmes including learning objectives, content and educational approaches.
This learning path identifies core and additional recommended e-learning sessions for doctors to enhance the quality of care for patients in the last days of life and support for their families. We have defined sessions which contain core content to support what doctors need to know and do to provide good care for people who are dying. The sessions that the individual doctor needs to complete depends on how competent they are already with this area of practice. For example, many will already feel very confident in applying the Mental Capacity Act to practice. - Hierarchy:
- End of Life Care (e-ELCA) > [Retired] 00_01 Priorities for care of the dying person > Priorities for care of the dying person: learning path for doctors
- Keywords:
- End of life care, One Chance to Get it Right, Leadership Alliance for the Care of Dying People, Priorities for Care of the Dying Person, Training Needs Analysis, TNA, last days
