- Title:
- [Retired] Enhanced Paediatric Nursing Skills for Surge (EPNS4Surge) (Text, 390 mins)
- Description:
-
The EPNS4Surge course has been designed for nursing staff (B5 up) looking after children with respiratory illness to enable nurse-led flow from triage to discharge.
It provides the knowledge and skills to enhance the delivery of care for children and young people with bronchiolitis, croup, asthma and viral induced wheeze in the acute hospital and community setting. There is also an emphasis on how sepsis may mimic or present alongside these common conditions.
The entire course takes 6.5 hours, but it is broken into bite size sections that can be accessed at your own pace.
The EPNS for Surge course is the respiratory component of the larger EPNS course, a masters-level University accredited course. EPNS for Surge has been made freely available as part of a packaged course developed in Bradford to develop nurses in areas such as enhanced nurse triage, nurse-led discharge, and hospital at home community care.
