- Working across secondary, community, primary care and social care the Virtual Ward programme is a nationally led piece of work that will support local systems to implement virtual wards, including hospital at home, to provide acute level care in a person’s own home. Building on what we have learnt through the COVID-19 pandemic and existing services the programme will aim to increase the capacity for care closer to home and the adoption of technology to improve experience of care and the outcomes for patients.
